We’re Yoopers!
Mrs Moose Jigsaw Puzzles are created at the Shop Of Mrs Moose, located deep in the woods of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula (U.P.). The people of the U.P. are referred to as Yoopers. (Pronounced you-pers).
We are a family business operating from home and specialize in the personal market as well as the retail and corporate markets. Our family at Mrs Moose consists of Bill and Carol Etten, Jack and Ben our Golden Retrievers, our cats Dieter, Kaiser, Heidi and Gretel, and our pond which contains hundreds of koi fish. This doesn’t include the deer in the yard, the occasional bear on the porch or fox in the barn.
| Our U.P. is heavily wooded with many in-land lakes, rivers, mountains, waterfalls, and ridges. The area is abundant with white-tail deer, black bear, fox, coyote, raccoon, wolf, and of course, moose. All of this wild country is located on the shores of the beautiful Lake Superior to the north, Lake Huron to the west, and Lake Michigan to the south. Our shoreline is a continuous stretch for 1,700-miles around the Upper Peninsula! The beaches range from sugar sand to towering dunes. We have 4,300 inland lakes and 12,000 mile of trout streams. The only road that connects us to Michigan’s lower peninsula is the Mackinac bridge. |

Since we love hiking in the summer and snowshoeing in the winter, we travel the U.P. photographing its beauty all year long. The photos in our U.P. Puzzles have all be taken by us unless otherwise noted. The name Mrs Moose came about because of a female moose who lived 'down the road’ from us. She has since moved on but you can still spot moose in the wild all across the U.P. and even occasionally in town–such as this moose cooling off in a lily pond in the local cemetery!

Finally, we love puzzles! Although we spend a lot of
time outdoors, winters are long here. It is not uncommon for us to have 5 feet of snow - on our roof! Sitting next to the fireplace and putting a puzzle together is a cozy way to spend an evening. Putting a puzzle together with a custom photo or a photo taken in the Upper Peninsula makes it even more special.
